Eagle, Globe and Anchor

Welcoming visitors to the Museum grounds is an imposing sculpture of a ten foot eagle, globe and anchor that will tower above its flowing water and textured base. Crafted by eastern shore artist David Turner, this monument, recognizing the Carolina Marines’ hallowed heritage and ongoing role in defense of our country, embodies the story that will be told within the Museum.

Turner has posed an eagle with an eleven-foot wingspan, unfurled atop of a globe five feet in diameter.  Siver stars on locations where the Carolina Marines deoplyed and fought to protect and defend freedom  are located on the globe.
