Great Hall

Step inside the Museum and you’re in the majestic Great Hall, bathed in the warm light from tall windows in the north wall. Here you will find the admissions desk, gift shop, café and rest rooms.

Your journey through the Museum begins here. Colorful designs in the windows represent the campaign and service medal ribbons awarded to the Carolina Marines. The hall’s semi-fixed displays provide context for the more extensive history of the Carolina Marines depicted in the main galleries. These displays will introduce you to the person for whom Camp Lejeune is named, John A. Lejeune, the “Greatest Marine,” and will showcase Marine Corps uniforms, ranks and decorations.

Grand and stately, the Great Hall can also serve as a venue for social, ceremonial and educational functions. It has a potential seating capacity of almost 300 with additional event space in the adjacent Classroom and Changing Gallery. Its proximity to the Museum’s catering kitchen ensures seamless service for even the largest and most formal events.

From the Great Hall, you can enter the Orientation Theater or bypass the theater and walk through Freedom Way into the Galleries. The Courtyard is accessible through doors in the gift shop.
